Our Corner of the World

Olde Mill sits in the heart of Carroll County in Western Virginia, less than 3 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway – America's Favorite Drive. No more than a leisurely, therapeutic drive from the hustle and bustle of city centers such as Raleigh, Greensboro, Charlotte, Roanoke and Richmond, our little corner of the world offers beauty for the senses, stimulation for the mind and adventure to be discovered by every member of the family.

Just a grape’s throw from Olde Mill, you’ll find Chateau Morisette, Virginia’s largest winery. With architecture and a setting that feels a bit more Tuscan than Appalachian, it’s a welcoming destination to taste wine, enjoy dinner and take in one of their many music events and festivals. Speaking of which, this area is home to a growing cultural and arts scene, which can be discovered through a full calendar of arts festivals from May through October. The nearby town of Floyd hosts art galleries, festivals and a weekly celebration of traditional music and dancing known as Friday Night Jamboree. Add to that, favorite tourists spots like Mabry Mill and Mount Airy, NC (Andy Griffith’s boyhood home and inspiration for TV’s Mayberry) and the rolling countryside of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and you’ve got more than a getaway desination. You’ve got a little piece of heaven right here on earth.
